Why is descaling important?
Your steamer is one of the most used tools in the wardrobe – and, like the coffee machine at home, it needs a bit of maintenance to keep working optimally. Limescale from the water builds up inside and over time can reduce the steam power and, in the worst case, damage the machine. Fortunately, descaling is easy and only takes a few minutes of your time.

What do you need?
You can descale all our steamers using either:
- White vinegar mixed with water (1:1)
- Regular household descaler from the grocery store
How to do it – 4 easy steps
Step 1 – Empty the machine
Completely empty the steamer and the water tank of any water before you begin.
Step 2 – Pour in descaler
Pour white vinegar and water (1:1) or descaler into the water tank in the dilution ratio indicated on the product. Leave the machine overnight so the descaler can do its work.
Step 3 – Empty and open the drain plug
Empty the reservoir and the machine of the solution. Remove the water tank and unscrew the drain plug at the bottom of the machine so the limescale can drain out.
Step 4 – Rinse thoroughly
Rinse the machine thoroughly from the top (where the water tank sits) and out through the drain plug. Screw the plug back on, fill the water tank with clean water and replace it.
Tips for the future
- Use distilled water instead of tap water – this significantly reduces limescale deposits.
- Remember to steam once with clean water after descaling so no descaler residue gets on the clothes.
- Descale regularly – the more often you use the steamer, the more frequently you should descale it.
